DAY 1: LOOP DE LOOP

Holly, Katie S, Lindsey, Jenn, Zoe and Hayley made the six hour drive from Madison to St Louis, MO. The first of the three days racing was a twilight crit which was super fun. There was a great crowd and atmosphere. Saris was there with indoor trainers available so the team took advantage of them to warm-up together. The circuit was 0.9 mile long and it was either going uphill or downhill making for some hard, fast racing. The team plan was to just go with the flow and try set-up a lead-out if possible. The course was punishing and shortly before the finish Katie and Lindsey were dropped and then pulled off. The lead-out part didn’t quite work out with the back straight being in near-darkness and there being two other teams with similar kits. Hayley did well in her first US race to place 15^th, with Holly 19^th, Jenn 21^st and Zoe 22^nd. (more…)
